AGM
Our AGM took place at the Ostrich pub tent at 4pm on Sunday 11 September.
Thanks to all who joined us and to the Ostrich pub for loan of therir tent.
A number of issues were raised which we are working on.
Removal or relocation of the grit bin on Guinea Street
A number of requests have been made but so fare has not been dealt with
It will cause particular problems for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

Crime prevention
Car theft is a regular occurance in the area and we are looking at realistic measures we can take to combat this.
Bascule bridge at Redcliffe Way closed for maintenance
The bridge is closed for repairs from August 1 for ten weeks.
Alternative routes have been provided.
Improving the environment in Redcliffe.
We are planning a gardening and litter pick on December 3 from 10am onwards. Please join us if you can.
We are looking into installing a new planter in the spaces left from the stolen benches.
We looked to Bristol City Council to remove the green waste from gradening and improvements. The system requires us to buy green waste bags at £25 for 50. We are a small community group with finite resources and have not choosen to take this route.
Bump Rollerdisco returns to Redcliffe Wharf.
A license has been granted and can be reviewed at any time should current noise levels change.
So far there have been few noisy nights.
S106 Environmental Improvement Monies
BCC currently holds £57,077.64 for Environmental improvements, and £22831.07 for revised parking measures on streets surrounding the Holland House Hotel.
The committee is to ask BCC what plans they have for this money and to make suggestion on what we think would make good improvements.
Since no response has been received we have entered a formal complaint on Bristol City Council portal.
We have had no response to our complaint and have emailed BCC to ask for and explanation.
We are taking this forward with a request for Freedom of Information and with our MP.

Planning updates
New proposal for Wapping Wharf – 12 storey building at location of existing cargo units
We think the scale proposed is over-bearing and not in keeping with the existing development and harbourside.
We will check if the public consultation has started, and investigate making a representation to the developer.
Redcliffe Wharf
Planning for Redcliffe Wharf development has been agreed.
They have respected new plans not to block the view from Redcliffe East car park.
There is an indication that work will take two years once Wessex Water has installed a new water main which would appear to be the hold up. See more
A ‘coming soon’ board has been erected at the entrance to the site.
