Community get together Sunday June 5

We would be pleased if you would join us for a community get together on Sunday June 5 at 12 noon at Redcliffe Point (land next to the car park on Redcliffe Parade East)
Please bring food and drink to share.
We look forward to seeing you there.

Improving the environment in Redcliffe.

A big thank you to Doug and Tom for creating our new raised bed. And for rescuing the litter bin.
And many thanks to all who turned on Saturday 28 May and made a difference to the environment – Jackie, Jez, Jerry. and Richard.

The bed is now planted and we have had many favourable comments from the local community about our improvements.

Local business Womble Bond Dickinson will be helping with planting on Friday 8 July from 10-12. Please join us if you can.

We have set quarterly dates to meet up and improve Redcliffe environment litter picking and community gardening. We will be pleased if you could join us.

Future dates:
Saturday 10 September 9.30 – 12.00
Saturday 3 December 9.30 – 12.00

Bump Rollerdisco returns to Redcliffe Wharf.

Bump Rollerdisco is intending to operate on Redcliffe Wharf from 24 April – 24 April 22 – 30 January 2023 for long hours.

Their previous tenure during the autumn / winter 22 caused major noise issues for residents in Redcliffe which were never addressed satisfactorily.

Whilst we don’t object to the business operating on Redcliffe Wharf per se we do object to the impact of noise on residents as significant, causing sleep disturbance particularly for those living in Redcliffe Parade East and West which is a public nuisance.

We made our representation at the hearing on 12 May.
A license has been granted and can be reviewed at any time should current noise levels change.

S106 Environmental Improvement Monies

BCC currently holds £57,077.64 for Environmental improvements, and £22831.07 for revised parking measures on streets surrounding the Holland House Hotel.
The committee is to ask BCC what plans they have for this money and to make suggestion on what we think would make good improvements.

Since no response has been received we have entered a formal complaint on Bristol City Council portal.

We have had no response to our complaint and have emailed BCC to ask for and explanation.

Planning updates

Redcliffe Wharf

Planning for Redcliffe Wharf development has been agreed.
They have respected new plans not to block the view from Redcliffe East car park.
There is an indication that work will take two years once Wessex Water has installed a new water main which would appear to be the hold up. See more

A ‘coming soon’ board has been erected at the entrance to the site.
